About Ashifalva terminus and rural environment by Donát Raáb & Tünde Horváth

This LEGO MOC train station is definitely a living thing and was built for better play experience. Please make sure to check the timelapse video of the operations carried out on this layout!

Story:
The LUG MLVK (Hungarian L-gauge Club) grew big in the last years, more trains are built month by month by teenager members according to Hungarian real life prototypes and controlling the traffic, storing trains effectively became crucial. Since the double loop oval track became boring (we used that setup for years) I decided to give up my previous through station and make a terminus, where all trains should reverse. This increased a lot the play experience at the last show we took the fresh new station.

Operations:
The station requires at least one staff member to control all the motorised, FX P40 (R104-ish) switches. Another staff member can join to handle the shunting locomotive, and they both should cooperate to manage the optimal train reversing. The video shared below shows these movements - different trains reverse different ways. Motor units and trains with driver cars are the easiest, they can access the middle tracks (4 and 5), and they can instantly return on the custom FX R104 crossover, or they can go out to storage track T3 or T4. Trains with locomotives can reverse in three ways - if they cars are fragile, and the owner doesn't want anyone shunting them, they can arrive at track 6 or 7, go around their own trains (there is a switch between tracks 6 and 7 at the end), and reverse this way. Those who allow others to shunt can access track 1 to 3, the shunting loco pulls of the train to T1, the original loco can go off from the station to the short loco storage tracks (TCsB-3 or TCSB-4), the shunting loco pushes the train back, pulls off and the original loco can re-couple to her own train. Just a day before the deadline of BTA, it proved really well, and handled a lot of trains at the same time and reversed them quite quickly. All those who were driving trains really enjoyed the realism of operations - even if their regional trains were held back to let the InterCity service go first.

Why did we enter?
We think, this layout of ours is a special one. According to our limitations (storage and transport capacity) we focused on flexibility and playability, and such a layout is fun for our shows' visitors and for us, too. The LEGO-train hobby brings our LUG and the kids loving trains in our country together event by event.
