The Gt 2x4-4, also known as the Br 96 Mallet, was a german duplex heavy locomotive built in the early 1900's, designed to work in the mountains where few locomotives managed to operate.

The first series, composed by 15 locomotives. proved to be so successful that after World War 1, 10 more units were ordered to be made and introduced in the DRG (Deutsche Reichsbahn Gesellschaft).

This second batch of locomotives would be named "second series", as it brought new modification to meet the newer requirements after the war

My model features the brand new Second Series Br 96, being motorized and powered by a single 9V engine located in the rear axle.
