About Chesapeake and Ohio M1 Steam Turbine Electric by pikohan

Chesapeake and Ohio M1 Steam Turbine Electric

In the late nineteen forties, the C&O built three M1 class steam turbine electric locomotives to pull a flagship passenger service that never materialized. At the time of construction these were the longest single-unit locomotives in the world but they proved extremely unreliable and operated for just a few years. All three units were scrapped in 1950.

This ~1:48 scale model was completed in October 2023. It uses BBB No. 5 wheels, but no other custom parts. It can support up to four L motors in its Power Functions drivetrain and can handle all curve radii down to R40.
