About Chicago Burlington & Quincey K2 4-6-0 #637 by Jacob Yauilla

Chicago Burlington & Quincey 637 is a K2 4-6-0 built by Rogers in 1892. It worked for the Burlington & Missouri River Railroad and was number #309. In 1904, the B&MRR was acquired by the CB&Q and 309 was numbered to 637. It hauled branch line trains and commuter trains in Chicago until 1948. In 1948, it was given a fake diamond smoke stack as it attended the Chicago Railroad Fair and hauled excursions until 1956 where it was donated to Aurora, Illinois. In 1980, 637 was sold to the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, Illinois where it stands today in pieces.

I started building 637 in 2021 and finished it this year. I am submitting her as a digital model because its getting pretty expensive to buy parts from different sites all at once. The engine is powered by a power functions L motor and has the PFX brick for sounds, lighting, and motor control. When it is fully finished physically, I will be posting a video about her on my youtube channel.
