About CIE CC1 “Turf Burner” by Hod Carrier
This is my model of the unconventional Irish CIE CC1 locomotive. It was built as a prototype to evaluate the use of peat as a fuel, which Ireland had in abundance, rather than coal, giving it the nickname "Turf Burner". Designed by OVS Bulleid, the CC1 shares a lot of features with the "Leader" class of locomotive built for the English Southern Railway.
