About Continuous Welded Rail (CWR) Train by Sal Ciofani

The Continuous Welded Rail Train hauls and delivers long strings of continuous welded rail (CWR) to worksites along the railroad, to be installed by specialized equipment. The two threader cars at the rear of the train facilitate the loading and unloading of the rail along the outside of the railroad track, for future instalation. The CWR train consists of a GP 38 locomotive Wisconsin & Southern Railroad (WSOR) #3802, a buffer car, covered hopper WSOR 521126, end car CWX 51041, intermediate cars ,CWRX 605076 and CWRX 53167, clamp car CWRX CWRX 51140, intermediate cars CWRX 51098 and CWRX 605579, end car CWRX 51033, Threader car CWRX 304, and finally Threader control car CWRX 306. The clamp car at the middle of the train is the only car that secures the rail to the train.
