About DSB Litra Q 345 by Christoffer Behrens
This LEGO steam locomotive is very special!
As it’s a shunting locomotive, I’ve gone to great lengths to ensure that it can uncouple carriages both at the front and the rear using a unique mechanism I’ve developed myself. As far as I know, no one else has managed this dual uncoupling before me. So what you’re seeing here is a sort of world first.
Please watch the YouTube video for a demonstration of how the mechanism works.

Litra Q is a DSB steam shunting locomotive that was built at Frichs in Aarhus. The first ones were built in 1930 - the last ones were built in 1945. Litra Q is the largest steam shunting locomotive to have operated in Denmark. The Litra Q was built as a dedicated shunting locomotive, specially designed to be able to shunt on the so-called shunting ridges used in the large freight railway yards. However, it was also used to a lesser extent for long-distance freight trains. The locomotive was a 0D0 tender locomotive. A total of 15 Q locomotives were built. Only two have not been cut up: Q 345, which belongs to the Danish Railway Museum in Odense, and Q 350, which is in Geesthacht, Germany.
I once tried to ride in a train carriage pulled by the Q 345 at the museum in Odense. That inspired me to build this model.
