About Dutch State Railways Postal Wagon by Ties
The SS L 111-114 postal wagons where a small series of wagon designed to transport mail in international express trains. These models where used as part of the London to New York postal route, specifically on the section from Vlissingen in The Netherlands to Berlin in Germany. The wagons where built in 1909, and ran on the Vlissingen - Berlin route until the start of World War 1.
The LEGO model is built in 1:45 scale, and the only custom parts used ate ball bearings. For the rest, all parts are original LEGO bricks. No decals are used in the model, all of the lining is brick-built. The model contains over 300 brackets of different shapes and sizes to exactly re-create the lining on the original prototype.
