About Elevador da Glória Memorial by Brickrails (Sérgio Batista)
The Elevador da Glória is one of Lisbon’s most iconic landmarks, connecting Baixa with Bairro Alto.
This small 8x16 LEGO vignette is a tribute to the victims of the Glória funicular disaster that occurred last year.
The monochrome aesthetic represents mourning, remembrance, and respect.
The idea was not to create a large or highly detailed model, but simply to capture a small part of this iconic Lisbon landmark and turn it into a modest memorial.
Through a simple composition and a single tone, this build is a small gesture of remembrance and a way to honor those who lost their lives.
