The 1973 build Henschel-BBC DE 2500 was rebuild to the UmAn Version in the early eighties.
This High-Speed-Prototype was powered by a Diesel motor and driven by three-phase-current motors in the boogies, which were redesigned for a speed of 350 km/h.
This locomotive was used for high speed Test drives, trying out components for the BR 120 and the ICE.
