About HŽPP Končar 6211-001 battery-electric motor unit by Donát Raáb

Building this train was quite the challange - the real life prototype is a Croatian train, first of a future series, where the dual-operation of battery and electric traction was tested. Thus the motor unit got a really nice green stripe to her livery, indicating the environmentally friendly traction system. Overall I really liked the white-red-green appearence, so I decided to build it with LEGO-bricks - just to realise that both the red stripes, both the green-bright green one (indicating the leaves pattern) should be built in 1,5 plates height to make it work in my scale of 1:45.

I used small neck brackets for the greens, and larger bracket for the red line, also swapped this one above the bogies and reversing the orientation of studs using the really rare old hinge plate 1×2 with two and three fingers in the colour of green. The real train's front have a lot of differently angled curves, it took a while to make a good representation of it, especially bringing the lights to the side of the train and shaping up the bright green 10L rigid hose for the desired curve.

The motor units has direction-dependent front-tail lights, interiour light and two PU train motors, all controlled via BuWizz 3.0

Year of build: 2025
