About Lackawanna and Wyoming Valley (Laurel Line) Interurban Trolley by danbrix

This is an 8-wide model of the red and blue Interurbans, which ran between Scranton and and Wilkes-Barre in Northeastern Pennsylvania (USA). While this color scheme is specific to the so called "Laurel Line", Interurbans of this or similar style traverse all across the United States in the first half of the 20th Century. Very similar cars operated, for example, on the Chicago North Shore Line. These big Interurbans were powered by trolley pole or third rail and could reach speeds of up to 80 to 90 mph, when running through the countryside.
