About LMS Articulated Railcar (1938) by Hod Carrier

This is my model of the LMS Articulated Railcar of 1938. It was designed and built as an experimental diesel train for use on secondary lines and given streamlined styling very much in the vein of the high-speed diesel railcars from Germany. Use of the train was curtailed by the outbreak of war during which it was stored. Following the end of the war, the railcar was converted as an overhead power line maintenance car before finally being scrapped in 1967.

With this model I have tried to capture the streamlined curves of the original train by extensive use of SNOT techniques throughout. My model is powered by a standard LEGO train motor mounted sideways within the body driving a Technic bogie, and has a close-coupled articulation of my own devising between the cars that allows it to take R40 radius curves and LEGO standard points/switches (as can be seen in this video - https://flic.kr/p/2oJchcf).
