About LNER Coronation ‘Beavertail’ observation coach by Ewout Rohling

The Coronation was a non-stop streamlined express introduced by the LNER in 1937. Hauled by the infamous A4 Pacifics, the rear of the train was brought up by a streamlined observation coach, affectionately known as the Beavertail for its distinctive shape.

Two were built, and both have survived into preservation. While both were extensively rebuilt by British Railways, one has been returned to original condition, as modelled here.
