About LSWR T3 No.563 by Ewout Rohling

A model of the elegant Adams T3 of the London and South Western Railway.
Built in 1893, 563 was a miraculous survivor, clinging to life just long enough to pass into preservation. In 2017 she was handed over to a trust who have spent the past 6 years returning her to working order.

Designing the loco proved to be very challenging and required the use of unusual techniques. To keep the locomotive within the 7-stud scale, the XXL driving wheels are a custom extra-thin design. The lead drivers are blind to clear the deep splashers, with the front bogie split so the front axle swivels while the rear axle is rigid to the frame, keeping the loco on the rails.

Lining and lettering was designed by myself and commissioned from Alex McCooke.

This model was featured by the 563 Trust in their July issue of the T3 Times.
