About Morehead & North Fork #12 – The Yard Switcher by Glenn Holland

Originally a Southern Railway A-7 class of ALCO Pittsburg, built 1905, this 0-6-0 is most commonly remembered as a Morehead & North Fork engine operating in Kentucky. It was acquired and restored to service by the Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum and is operated on occasion during the events season.

The model was a challenge given the interesting proportions of the locomotive - the boiler is built in sections, one of which mounts directly to the upside-down PF M motor inside. The engine is geared for slower speeds and can easily handle eight heavy cars. It is fully usable as a trusty switching locomotive, just like it's real-life counterpart.
