About Oregon Pacific & Eastern #19 – “Emperor of the North” by Glenn Holland

Originally a Baldwin product of 1915, the standardized 90-ton 2-8-2 has seen nearly half a dozen owners/operators in its life. It was featured prominently in the 1973 film "Emperor of the North" which starred Lee Marvin and Ernest Borgnine, and also is seen on screen in the coming-of-age classic "Stand by Me". It is currently undergoing operational restoration at the Age of Steam roundhouse Museum.

My model represents the engine in its "Emperor of the North" appearance, which includes a faithfully recreated railroad herald only used for the film. A reliable model that can handle the movie-accurate 9 cars at most, this one is the builder's favorite locomotive around.
