About Pennsylvania Railroad A5s #713 by Liam K.

Pennsylvania Railroad A5s #713 was one of 47 built by the Juniata shops between 1916 and 1924. They were known for being some of the largest 0-4-0’s ever built. The real 713 operated in Atlantic city, due to the tight curvature of the trackage.

My Lego model features custom 3d printed wheels and rods. It is driven by a single PF L motor with an IR receiver. The battery box fits into the tender sideways under the coal bunker, allowing me to place a small “button” on the side of the tender built into the wall. The tender uses minifig hands for the trucks. The couplers are regular Lego train couplers with the buffers cut off. It also features BMR roller bearing wheelsets.
