About Reading & Northern 425 by Nemowerty
No. 425 is a 4-6-2 “Pacific” type engine, built in 1928 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Gulf, Mobile, and Northern Railroad. After shifting ownership across multiple railroads, 425 has been part of Reading since 1983, taking on multiple paint schemes along the way. After completing excursion work at the end of last year, it is currently under federally mandated 1472 day inspection.
