About RENFE S-269 “Japonesa” by Ferro-Friki

Designed by Mitsubishi in the 70s for both passenger and freight service, this very successful and prolific engine was nicknamed “La Japonesa” (The Japanese), and became a staple of the Spanish railways for many decades. Although RENFE retired them from its fleet years ago, a few remain in operation by private companies for some tourist and freight trains.

This model is powered by two PF L motors and a BuWizz 3.0 battery box. It has M-size wheels from HA Bricks geared 1:1 with the motors and can navigate R40 curves. I used silver TrimLine modelling tape for the windshield and side window frames, and custom stickers.
