About RhB G 4/5 107 ‘ALBULA’ by dolfmeister

G 4/5 107 is one of two steam locomotives of the class in active preservation on the Rhätische Bahn (RhB). Both were constructed in 1906, the first in the series with superheaters. While most steam engines became surplus and were sold off with advancing electrification on the RhB network, three were retained for snow clearing and freight duties. No. 104 was disposed of in the 1950s, but No. 107 and 108 have remained in service continuously, hauling steam excursions and charter trains. In their centenary year, they were named 'ALBULA' and 'ENGIADINA' respectively.
