About Santa Fe FT 100 by DMRR WOLFE

My version of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe FT which I learned stands for F-ourteen hundred hp T-win unit, and not " Freight Train"! This locomotive is shown in the factory-original Dec. 1940 "cat whisker" and red stripe scheme that came before Santa Fe adopted the well-known 'Warbonnet" livery. The EMD FT (produced 1939-1945) was responsible for ushering in the diesel-electric era as it sailed past steam locomotives stopped for water in the arid Southwest U.S.

The model makes use of a combination of transfer decals and UV-printed bricks placed into a 3D printed template -which improves the final results. Unfortunately, a few pieces still need to be air-brushed with the colour-matched Tamiya gloss paint I mixed up and/or purchased from 3rd party brick makers -that is UNTIL Lego releases the appropriate colours.
