On the 21. March of 1944 this train equipped with a Schienenwolf (rail ripper) was used by German troops to destroy the train tracks beginning at Statione di Itri in Italy. The train consisted of the Schienenwolf, a locomotive of the model FS 740, a tender and a standard wagon. German rail pioneer troops mostly used captured Italian material - like here.
