V100.1 / DR BR110/BR112 / East Germany General purpose locomotive

History:

From 1964 onwards, an all-purpose locomotive in the medium power range with 900 hp was developed. Series production started in 1967 with a 1000 hp engine, called BR110 series.
Between 1981 and 1991, many locomotives were equipped with a 1200 hp engine and designated as BR112.
The locomotives were ubiquitous in East Germany and are still used today by many small railway companies.

Model:

I decided to use two Lego PU train motors connected to a Lego CityHUB to drive the locomotive: this allows me to achieve a higher speed with a good train load, so that the locomotive can be used in many different ways: from short passenger trains on branch lines to larger goods trains.
It was important to me that the tan trim strip is completely built and not represented by stickers.
The lighting is a custom design and automatically adjusts to the last active direction of travel.
