V100.4 / DR BR111 / East Germany Heavy shunting locomotive

History:

The V100.4 was built in series in the GDR between 1981 and 1983 as a sub-variant of the V100 family for heavy shunting service and was placed under the command of the large refinery plants, among others. Equipped with a 1000 hp diesel engine and reduction gears, the locomotives were designed for a maximum speed of 65 km/h.
Some of the locomotives are still in service today. My prototype 111 002 -2 is currently a museum locomotive ready for operation.

Model:

I used two Lego PU Boost Interactive motors in the model. All 4 axles are driven, the transmission is 1:1 on BigBen M wheels. Thus, the locomotive has sufficient speed and plenty of power for a heavy shunting locomotive. A Lego PU City HUB serves as the controller and power.
The lighting is a custom design and automatically adjusts to the last active direction of travel.
