About Victorian Railways McKeen railmotor by Ewout Rohling

McKeen were an early progenitor of internal-combustion railcars, and their iconic boat-shaped railmotors found homes across a number of American railroads. Overseas however, they were practically unheard of, with Australia being the only country outside of the Americas to trial them.

Victorian Railways purchased 2 to test them on branch lines. They were notoriously unreliable, and only lasted 3 years as railmotors before being stripped and used as locomotive-hauled coaches until they were scrapped in the 1930s.
