About Yass Tramway KA class tramcar by Ewout Rohling

Built in 1885 by Hudson Brothers, a pair of these charming carriages were the mainstay of passenger services on the 5KM Yass tramway.
Though they would later disperse to other parts of the railway network, mainly in departmental use, they were long referred to as the 'Yass Cars'.
Only one would survive into preservation, KA 778. Tragically, the car was destroyed in an arson attack in 1993, but some parts were salvaged in the hopes of one day building a replica.
